Noah Butkus comic strip in Happiness
I say this a lot about a lot of illustrators it seems but Noah Butkus is one of my favorite contemporary illustrators going. Hes been M.I.A for too long, but he will never be forgotten after searing himself into my conscious with his beautiful blend of Peelleart, McFeteridge, Moebius and various others. His dark, sophisticated fantasy noir has always struck a chord with me, so it is with great great happiness that the other day i stumbled on an interview that mentioned he had just done a great looking comic spread for the great Happiness Comix.
Happiness Comix is fast becoming a who’s who’s of talent in the US, with a nice broad range of styles, and for only a few $ you’d be crazy not to pick up some copies - while you still can.
If you ever read this Noah Butkus, we need more of your awesome work!
I literally said “woah” out loud at work while reading. So kind of you to say this about Happiness, I hope you enjoy the second issue! And yeah, I hope Noah reappears from the nethers sometime soon.

Aerial photo of a B-52 “bone yard” in Tucson, Arizona, by Alex MacLean, a Massachusetts-based pilot and photographer who combines both of his passions to create amazing images. He portrays the history and evolution of land from vast agricultural patterns to city grids, recording changes brought about by human intervention and natural processes.
His powerful and descriptive images provide clues to understanding the relationship between natural and constructed environments.
